Patriot Bowling Finishes 8th at Norse Classic

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Bowling teams returned to action as they traveled to Erlanger, KY to participate in the second tournament of the weekend, the Norse Classic. The Patriots again saw action against some of the top talent of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) and were determined to show their best against rivals and Division I opponents.

BY THE NUMBERS

The men's team finished 8th of 16 teams overall and 2nd of 3 MSC squads. The Patriots would rack up a five game total of 4,386 and 1,980 points in 12 Baker games for an overall score of 6,366.

  • Darion Hite (Hillsborough, NC) finished 21st overall with a total score of 945 points.
  • Andy Cora (Mt. Sterling, KY) finished 23rd overall with a total score of 938 points.
  • Brad Paynter (Carlisle, OH) finished 42nd with a total of 892 points.
  • Brandon Cooney (Lancaster, OH) finished 44th with a total 890 points.

The women's team also finished 8th out of 16 teams overall and 1st of 4 MSC squads. The Patriot ladies racked up 4,363 points in 5 games and 1,996 points in the 12 Baker games for an overall total of 6,359 points.

  • Finishing in the Top 20 was Nicole Eades (Lexington, KY) as she finished 13th overall with 992 points.
  • Also finishing in the Top 20 was Autumn Cooney (Lancaster, OH) as she finished 14th overall with 990 points.
  • Jazmine Traylor (Birmingham, AL) finished in 23rd place with 935 total points.
  • Amanda Kelly (Georgetown, KY) finished in 25th place with 929 points.
  • Mekaila McReynolds (Kingsport, OH) finished with 901 total points and a 32nd place finish.
  • Cici Hall (Danville, KY) finished with 895 total points and a 34th place finish.

Head Coach Kevin Reigle commented, "The men had another good showing during the event, but again were unable to break into that Top 5 spot that we continue to strive for. Although the women had a small slip during the Baker games, they continued to show their abilities on the lanes. We have a ton of talent on both sides and I know we still have yet to show where we can be."

UP NEXT

The Patriots will return to the lanes on Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13th as they travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky to participate in the MSC Championships.
