Patriot Bowling Strikes in Brunswick Southern Classic

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Bowling teams returned to action this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia at the Brunswick Southern Collegiate Classic Tournament. The teams would compete in six match play games and 12 Baker games. Finishing out two days of tournament play, the men's team placed 18th out of 22 teams and the women placed 11th out of 18 teams.

BY THE NUMBERS - Men's Top Finishers

After six match play games, the Patriots had a team total of 5,220 pins, finishing day 1 in 20th place overall of 22 teams UC was able to boost their play rising two spots finishing 18th and beating out Mid-South Conference competitor St. Catharine College. UC added an additional 4,480 pins to bring their two day total to 9,459 pins.

• Adam Thress (Lancaster, OH) finished 85th with a score of 814
• Andy Cora (Mt. Sterling, KY) finished 86th with a score of 802.
• Darion Hite (Hillsborough, NC) scored 678, good enough for 96th place.

BY THE NUMBERS - Women's Top Finishers

The Lady Patriots squad finished their team rounds with a score of 5,220 pins. UC wrapped up the tournament adding an additional 4,138 pins in the Baker games for an overall total of 9,358 pins and an 11th place finish.

• Amanda Kelly (Georgetown, KY) finished 8th overall with a final score of 1,163.
• Jazmine Traylor (Birmingham, AL) finished 48th with a score of 905.
• Teammate, Autumn Cooney (Lancaster, OH) followed in 62nd with a score of 786.

Head Coach Kevin Reigle commented, "The women had a very solid showing in Atlanta against some of the best teams in the country. I'm really proud of how they bowled, showing heart all weekend."

The Patriots will be back in action on November 21st-22nd in Louisville, Kentucky for the Striking Knights Classic.
