UC Women's Soccer Streak Snapped with Late Goal vs. Bryan
UC Women's Soccer team tied school history earlier this week as they secured their 4th straight shutout victory. They looked to snap that record on Saturday as they hosted Bryan College for a match. It looked as if the game would be heading to overtime, but a late goal from the Lions would snap UC's win streak as the Patriots would fall 1-0. The loss moves UC to 4-3 overall on the season.

Patriot Soccer Falls in OT on Penalty Kick to Milligan
The UC Men's Soccer team finally got to take the field on their home pitch Friday night as they would host Milligan College (MC). The Patriots would show an aggressive style of play against the Buffaloes as both teams would fight for possession much of the night. It would take overtime to finish the contest, but it was a late foul in the box that spelled the demise for UC as Milligan would come away with a 1-0 victory off a penalty kick. UC now sits a 1-4 overall on the season.

Volleyball Back to Winning Ways in Defeat of Tennessee Wesleyan
UC Volleyball looked to rebound after their loss on Tuesday against Georgetown as they hosted Tennessee Wesleyan University (TWU) for a non-conference matchup. The Patriots looked very sharp throughout the night as they would take down the Bulldogs 3-1 by scores of 25-12, 25-19, 22-25, 25-12. The win moves UC to 9-3 overall on the season.

Men's Golf Finishes 6th at SCAD-Atlanta Fall Invitational
The UC Men's Golf Team opened their fall season on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as they traveled to Covington, Georgia to participate in the SCAD-Atlanta Fall Invitational. The Patriots went into the tournament with many new faces in the lineup from last season, but would look to make a mark. UC would finish the tournament in sixth place out of seven competing schools.

UC Volleyball Drops Home Opener against Georgetown
The Patriots of UC finally had the chance to play on their home floor Tuesday night, but would open with a big test as they faced NAIA #7 ranked Georgetown College (GC) in a Mid-South Conference (MSC) matchup. UC would play in front of a large and loud home crowd, looking for a victory over another NAIA Top 10 opponent. Unfortunately, the Patriots would be squandered by the Tigers as GC would defeat the Patriots 3-0 by scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-21.

The UC Men's Soccer Team entered Monday's contest against Huntington University (HU) looking for win number one on the young season. The Patriots would give up a goal, but would find the net twice themselves to earn a 2-1 victory, notching their first win of the 2016 season. UC's overall record now sits at 1-3.

Women's Soccer Silences Montreat for 4th Straight Shutout Win
UC Women's Soccer continues their solid play into a busy week of play. On Labor Day, UC would take to the pitch in North Carolina to face Montreat College. The Patriot ladies would strive to continue this great play and did so as they came away with another victory, this one a 2-0 win over the Cavaliers. This is the 4th straight shutout win for UC, who moves their record to 4-2 overall.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling team has had a long history of success and look to continue that success in the upcoming 2016-17 season. Volleyball Pats Win Two on Day One at IU East Tournament
UC Volleyball continued their long streak of games away from one this weekend as they participated in the Indiana University East Tournament in Richmond, Indiana. On day one of the tournament Friday, the Patriots would face both Shawnee State University (SSU) and host IU East. UC would look very sharp in both contests, earning victories over both the Bears of SSU and the Wolves of IU East. The wins move UC to 7-1 overall on the season.

Volleyball Splits vs. Mount Vernon Nazarene; Wins IU East Classic Championship
The Volleyball Patriots of UC would return to the courts in Richmond, Indiana at IU East on Saturday in the final day of play at the IU East Classic. They would face Mount Vernon Nazarene (MVNU) that morning to see who would move on to the Championship match later that day. After the Cougars would sweep the Pats in the first match, UC would return the favor in the Championship match against MVNU, winning the IU East Classic Title. The split of matches moves the Patriots to 8-2 overall.

Women's Soccer Earns Third Straight Shutout Win; Defeat Truett McConnell
The UC Women's Soccer team took to the road on Saturday as they traveled to Montreat, North Carolina to Montreat College, but would face the Bears of Truett McConnell University. UC would take to the field as they had tallied two straight shutout wins dating back to August 27th against Cincinnati Christian University. UC would once again show their defensive prowess as the Patriots would shutout the Bears by a score of 1-0, earning their 3rd consecutive shutout win. The victory moves UC to 3-2.

Football Pats Fight Hard but Fall Late to Wildcats of Bethel
The UC Football Patriots took to the field for the first time this season on the road Saturday in McKenzie, Tennessee to take on the Wildcats of Bethel University (BU). The Wildcats would hold the lead for much of the game until UC would take a late 4th quarter lead, but it was a field goal with under two minutes to play that spelled trouble for UC as they would fall to Bethel by a final score of 34-32. The loss moves the Patriots to 1-1 on the season.

UC Cross Country Opens Season at Berea/Centre Kick Off Classic
The UC Cross Country teams opened their 2016 seasons tonight at the Berea/ Centre College Cross Country Kick Off Classic. The Patriot ladies would participate in a 2 mile race followed by the men running a 5K event. Second year Head Coach Randy Greer was excited about the event, knowing the Patriots had a great chance at some high finishes. The women's team would come away with a third place finish of eight competing teams while the men finished second overall out of ten teams.

The UC Women's Soccer team came into Tuesday night's local rivalry game against the Bulldogs of Union College with a chip on their shoulder. After falling to Union last season in a 2-1 overtime game at Barbourville, the Patriots were looking to make a statement against the Bulldogs. UC would find a goal early and would hold tight for a 1-0 shutout victory over Union. The win moves the Patriots to 2-2 on the year.

The UC Women's Soccer team hosted the Eagles of Cincinnati Christian University (CCU) under the lights for the first time at the UC Soccer Complex on Saturday, August 27th. The Patriots would control the possession for a large majority of the first half and would secure a goal that would stand the test of the match as UC would defeat CCU 1-0, earning their first win of the season. UC now holds a 1-2 record overall on the season.

On a historic night in Williamsburg, Kentucky, the UC Football Patriots opened their 2016 season under the lights on Thursday night against the NAIA #17 ranked Tigers of Campbellsville University (CU). The Patriots would fall behind early, but would show grit and determination as they would score 23 straight points to take the lead. CU would score again in the 4th, but the Pats would hold tight for the 23-17 victory. The win moves the Patriots to 1-0 on the season.

The Buffaloes would take a quick lead to win in game one of the doubleheader, but the Patriots would battle back in game two to take the win and the split on the day. Patriot Track and Field Competes in Catamount Classic
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Track and Field teams were back in action on Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 16th as they traveled to Western Carolina University to compete in the Catamount Classic. Numerous teams would compete in the event as the Patriots would continue to look for additional PR's on the year as well as qualify individuals for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. The Patriots would finish 9th of 14 teams on both sides.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Baseball team hosted the Patriots of St. Catharine College (SCC) on Friday and Saturday in their final home weekend series of the year. UC would celebrate numerous events this weekend including Alumni Day, Senior Day, and would recognize Coach Brad Shelton on his 500th win at UC as well. The Patriots had much more to celebrate on Saturday as they would sweep St. Catharine on the weekend, moving their record to 29-18 overall and 7-11 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Patriot Tennis Victorious over Campbellsville on Senior Day
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Tennis teams were in action on Saturday as they hosted the Tigers of Campbellsville University (CU) in both the regular season finale as well as Senior Day for the Patriots. UC would be looking to send off their five seniors in grand fashion with big wins over the Tigers in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play. The Patriots would sweep Campbellsville as the ladies would win 7-2, improving their season record to 9-9 (4-3 MSC) while the men won 5-3, improving their record to 11-6 (4-2 MSC).

Numerous Patriots Earn All-ACC Yearly Honors
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team has had a fantastic inaugural season in 2016, going 7-4 overall and 3-3 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. As the Patriots competed this weekend in the AAC Tournament, numerous individuals were honored as five Patriots along with Head Coach Pete Campbell would earn yearly awards.
