Patriots' Cobb Signs with CFL's Roughriders
Terrance Cobb is a well-known name around the University of the Cumberlands (UC). Cobb played running back for the Patriots from 2010-2013 and was able to break many records, currently holding school records in rushing yards in a game, season, and career. He also holds records in rushing touchdowns in a game, season, and career. After his 2013 senior season, Terrance Cobb was not ready to let his football dream go.

Patriot Lacrosse Ousted by St. Andrews in AAC Tournament
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team entered play today in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament. The Patriots, who were the #4 seed in the tournament after a 7-4 regular season (3-3 AAC), would take on #1 seeded St. Andrews University (SAU) in the semifinal round. UC unfortunately fell too far behind early as their late game push wasn't enough to overcome the Knights, falling in the game 9-6. The loss finishes UC's inaugural season at 7-5 overall.

Three Patriots Ladies Earn WLAX All-Conference Honors
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Lacrosse team just recently wrapped up their 2016 inaugural season. Finishing the season with an overall record of 4-8 and 3-5 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play, the Patriots now turn their attention to the offseason as the coaches go to recruit and the players push to improve upon their game. During the season though, numerous Patriots would impress on the field as two UC athletes were named AAC 1st Team All-Conference while one Patriot was also named to the Champions of Character team.

Baseball Pats Drop Two of Three to Tigers in MSC Action
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots Baseball team hosted the Georgetown College (GC) Tigers this weekend for a three game Mid-South Conference (MSC) series. The Patriots would battle through the weekend looking to gain some head way in the conference standings against a tough Georgetown team. UC would eventually drop two of the three games on the weekend, but would end the series on a high note with a win over the Tigers.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling program had four student-athletes earn the right to compete in the Olympic Team Trials held in Iowa City, Iowa on April 9th and 10th. While each lady performed admirably, their Olympic dreams were halted as the ladies were unable to pin the gold needed to advance.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team took to the field on Saturday, April 9th against the Eagles of Asbury University (AU). UC was looking for their 7th overall victory as their regular season came to an end, and did just that winning a hard fought game by a final score of 10-6. The win moves the Patriots to 7-4 overall on the season and 3-3 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), earning a spot in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament.

UC Tennis Topples Bulldogs in Weekend Play
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Tennis teams would return to action as they would travel to Barbourville, KY to take on the Bulldogs of Union College (Union). The event would begin on Friday, but would be suspended due to rain and would resume on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots would dominate the courts as they would win on both the men and women's sides. The women would win 5-1 while the men would be victorious 7-2. The wins move the women to 8-8 on the season and the men to 9-6 on the year.

Patriot Track and Field Hosts UC Invitational
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Track and Field teams hosted their annual UC Invitational meet on Friday and Saturday at James H. Taylor, II Stadium. The meet was not scored overall to give a team championship, but would see many athletes compete highly as many set personal bests despite the tough weather conditions.

The loss brings UC's overall season record to 4-8 and 3-5 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Lacrosse program hosted their first night game at home on Wednesday as they took on NAIA #7 ranked Reinhardt University (RU) in another Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matchup. The Patriots would battle throughout the night, but in the end it was the Eagles of Reinhardt that would come away with a 17-5 victory over the Patriots. The loss moves UC to 2-4 overall on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Tennis team returned to action on Wednesday, March 9th as they would host the Bulldogs of Union College. Union would only have five players compete on the day, which would give UC the advantage. The Patriots would cruise on to victory over the Bulldogs with a final score of 8-1, pushing UC's record on the season to 3-5.

Baseball Pats Pound Defenders in Doubleheader Wins
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriot Baseball team took on the Defenders of Summit University (SU) on Wednesday looking to earn two more wins in the early half of the season. The Patriots would do just that, earning a couple of convincing victories over the Defenders by cruising to a 16-1 win in game one before earning a 5-1 victory in game two. UC improves to 16-4 overall on the season with the wins.

Women's Golf Opens Spring Season with Runner-Up Finish at Callaway Invite
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Golf program was on the road the past two days as they opened their spring season at the Callaway Gardens Invite hosted by Berry College. As numerous teams from NCAA Division II and III along with the NAIA would take part in the event, this would be a great test for the Patriots to begin their journey towards an NAIA National Tournament berth. NCAA D-III Rhodes College would take home the team championship while UC would earn a runner-up finish.

Baseball Patriots Win in Shutout Fashion against Berea
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Baseball team faced off against Berea College on Tuesday in a nine-inning game. The Patriots entered the game winning 11 of their last 13 games and hoping to keep their winning ways going as they enter conference play this weekend. UC did just that, taking down the Mountaineers 10-0 by run rule in 8 innings. The win moves UC to 14-4 overall on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Softball team is on a roll as they picked up their fourth and fifth consecutive victories on Monday night as they would take down the Rams of Bluefield College (BC). UC would have to grind it out, but would pick up a 3-1 win in game one and a 3-2 victory in 8 innings in game two. The two wins move UC to 10-3 overall on the season.

Patriot Archery Racks Up Honors at USCA Indoor Region Tournament
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Archery Team had a successful conclusion to their indoor season over the weekend shooting in the USCA Indoor Regional/National Tournament in Ashland, Kentucky. Along with UC, there were 11 other schools represented; Kentucky Christian University, Campbellsville University, Liberty University, Hocking College, Eastern Kentucky University, California University of Pennsylvania, Union College, Madisonville Community College, Pennsylvania State University, Midway University, and Ashland University.

Swimming Patriots Make History at Nationals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Swimming and Diving teams made their way to the NAIA National Championships this past weekend. While neither the men nor the women came away with gold, both teams placed 5th overall which is a first in Patriot history. Several Patriots also finished among the Top 6 and broke several records for the University including David Groh making history as the first male diver to compete at Nationals. The Top 6 in each event are also considered College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-Americans in which the Patriots have a school record of 36 qualifying athletes.

Women's Lacrosse Takes Down St. Andrews in 9-8 Victory
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Lacrosse program added another win to their record this past weekend by defeating Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent St. Andrews University with a final score of 9-8. The game was originally scheduled to be played at the UC Lacrosse Complex in Williamsburg, Kentucky, but was moved to Montreat College due to weather.

After a loss to Cumberland University and a win over Centre, UC moves to 5-3 overall this season (0-1 MSC). One Patriot did exceptionally well this past week for UC and for his efforts was awarded by the Mid-South Conference (MSC).

UC Baseball Splits Sunday Doubleheader vs. Cincinnati-Clermont
On Sunday, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots Baseball team opened up the last two games of their four game series against the University of Cincinnati-Clermont (CCU) Cougars. The Patriots would come into this game looking for their third consecutive weekend sweep of a series after taking two from the Cougars in Saturday's doubleheader. The CCU Cougars would have a different idea and would go on to squeak out a win in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. However, the Patriots would bounce back and take the second game, winning 3 of 4 on the weekend. UC now moves to 13-4 overall on the season.

The Patriots would fall on Saturday to the Phoenix of CU by a score of 7-2, but would turn things around on Sunday with a 7-2 victory over Centre. The split on the weekend moves the Patriots to 2-5 overall on the season.

UC would get back into the win column on Sunday as they earned a win on the road over Centre College (CC) by a score of 9-0. The split pushes the Patriots' record to 5-3 overall on the season.

Patriot Basketball Falls in MSC Title Game vs. Tigers
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team had already won two crucial games in two days, making their way to the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championship game on Sunday against #1 seeded and NAIA #2 ranked Georgetown College (GC). Although the Patriots would make runs in the game, it was the Tigers who would prevail, earning the MSC title over UC by a final of 79-69. The loss moves UC to 22-11 on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team wrapped up their season at the NAIA National Tournament this past weekend in Topeka, Kansas. The Patriots had three representatives of the team competing in three weight classes at their chance for the National Championships. In the end, one Patriot would earn NAIA All-American honors for his showing in the tournament.

The Patriots would brave the cold and rain, trying to beat the darkness to get in two games. UC would come away with a loss of 7-2 during game one, but followed with a bat fueled 9-2 victory on the day.

Before games get under way on Friday, the conference would hold its annual banquet where players would receive individual awards for their season accomplishments. Two Patriots did exceptionally well and for their efforts were honored.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) basketball teams are in the midst of final preparations as they will take to the floor this week in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament in Frankfort, Kentucky. As they look to work hard on the floor in hopes to make big runs in the tournament, many of the Patriots are being rewarded for their dedication to work in the classroom as conference officials announced their Academic All-Conference selections on Wednesday.
