University of the Cumberlands proudly recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional achievement in academics, service, and leadership. Each year, select students are chosen by their respective departments to receive departmental awards in recognition of their accomplishments and character. Georgia Carli Smith has been honored with the Gwynn Cornell Helping Hand Scholarship.

University of the Cumberlands offers undergraduate students who have excelled academically an opportunity to complete significant research in their major field of study. This advanced independent study or creative activity is conducted over two semesters and mentored by a faculty member. The resulting thesis and oral presentation are reviewed and approved by both the academic department and the Presidential Scholars Research Committee. This year, two undergraduate students have completed the requirements for this honor.

Samantha Langdon Bishop, a senior education major at University of the Cumberlands (UC), was recently awarded the 2018 Student Teacher Scholarship from the Kentucky Association of Professional Educators (KAPE).

The English Department at University of the Cumberlands presented the Lovett Scholarship to Michael Prewitt of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Sarah Rainous, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

University of the Cumberlands presented Kaylyn Collette and Jon Wilson with the H.N. and Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarship during the fifty-sixth Annual Honors Day.

University of the Cumberlands presented eight students with Alden Scholarships during the 56th Annual Honors Day Program. Two students received the George I. Alden Endowed Full Scholarship and six students received the George I. Alden Endowed Half Scholarship.

Ethan Hamilton and Tiffany Herron, students at University of the Cumberlands (UC), each received a $1000 scholarship from the Williamsburg Grand Commandery of Kentucky Knights Templar and Williamsburg Lodge 490 on March 28, 2015.

University of the Cumberlands is pleased to announce that eight students were honored as recipients of the Jim Taylor, II Memorial Scholarship during the 56th annual Honors Day service in the Gatliff Chapel.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) is pleased to announce that UC student, Virginia Jacobs (Waynesboro, PA) is the first UC recipient to ever receive the Jim Thorpe Family Scholarship. Jacobs is a sophomore, pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology.

On August 27, University of the Cumberlands' (UC) student, Stephanie McVay Pettit was awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship by the Williamsburg Grand Commandery of Kentucky Knights Templar and Williamsburg Lodge 490. The award was presented to Pettit by Commander, Larry Carte.
