University of the Cumberlands

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Baseball program once again concluded their season earlier than hoped for in 2014-15 with the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament. With numerous players earning honors on and off the field this year, seven more Patriots earned the highest athletic honors this week from the NAIA.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Track and Field team had select members compete last week at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. With five members of the team competing, UC was hopeful for numerous top finishes. One Patriot did exceptionally well at the meet, garnering several awards for his efforts.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) recently held the Physician Assistant (PA) program's hooding ceremony in the Gatliff Chapel on UC's campus.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) held its inaugural hooding ceremony for the Northern Campus' Clinical Psychology department's class of 2015 in Florence, Kentucky at Vineyard Christian Church.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Sarah Ashley England (Versailles, Kentucky) with the George S. Memorial Prize in Pre-Medical Studies during UC's annual commencement ceremony, May 9th, 2015 in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

University of the Cumberlands Tennis programs have completed their seasons for the 2014-15 school year. The men would go 6-11 on the season, making a run to the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament Semifinals. The Patriot ladies would go 7-11 overall on the year before being upset in the MSC Tournament Quarterfinals. The NAIA announced its highest academic honors today.

The Patriot ladies have done extremely well this season coming away with multiple tournament victories and numerous individual tournament champions. Not only did the Patriots do well on the course, but in the classroom as well as one Patriot was honored for her hard work and dedication to academics.

On Saturday, May 9th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented senior Sarah Ashley England (Versailles, Kentucky) with the H.N. and Frances Berger Outstanding Female Graduate Award during the annual commencement ceremony.

On Saturday, May 9th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented senior Cory Douglas Clark (Seymour, Tennessee) with the H.N. and Frances Berger Outstanding Male Graduate Award during the annual commencement ceremony.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team recently finished up their 2014-2015 season, sending four individuals to the NAIA National Championships. With a handful of Patriots doing well this season, one Patriot in particular earned recognition today from the Mid-South Conference (MSC).

Walter Kusiak (London, Kentucky) received the P. R. Jones Chemistry Award at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program.

Marissa Moorman (Big Clifty, Kentucky) and Shelby Gibbons (Hamersville, Ohio) received the Human Services Department award and other honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program.

Bethany Davis (Nicholasville, Kentucky) and Matthew Maher (Corbin, Kentucky) received several awards and honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program. Most notably, both were named the 2015 recipients of the Dr. Edward L. Hutton School of Business Accounting Award for their academic achievement and particular merit.

Kyra Nicolle Tucker (Nancy, Kentucky) was honored with the 2015 Elementary Education Award at the 56th Annual Honors Day.

Rebecca Hope McKinney (Corbin, Kentucky) was honored with the 2015 Middle School Education Award at the 56th annual Honors Day program.

Rachel Marie Hampton (Hopkinsville, Kentucky) was honored with the 2015 Special Education Award at the 56th annual Honors Day program at University of the Cumberlands (UC).

University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Elizabeth Guillermo (Corbin, Kentucky) with the Outstanding Senior in Theatre Arts Award during the 56th annual Honors Day program.

Christian Ray Brislenn (Franklin, Ohio) was presented with the Public Health Award from the Health, Exercise and Sport Science (HESS) Department of University of the Cumberlands (UC) during the 56th Annual Honors Day.

University of the Cumberlands (UC) student Bri-Ann Tokariwski (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) received the Curtis S. Brown Outstanding Senior in Communication and Theater Arts Award during the 56th annual Honors Day program.

Sofia Mena Molina (Williamsburg, Kentucky) received the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) Outstanding Senior French award and other honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program.

Allie Washing (Lexington, Kentucky) received several awards and honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program.

Robert Anthony McCormick (Louisville, Kentucky) received the Exercise Sport Science from the Health, Exercise and Sport Science (HESS) Department of University of the Cumberlands (UC) during the 56th annual Honors Day program.

Deborah Wilkerson (Berea, Kentucky) earned multiple awards at the University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program. She was recognized for her accomplishments and dedication to the Education, Mathematics and Spanish fields.

Troy Allen Stickler (Rockwood, Tennessee) received the Fitness and Sport Management Award from the Health, Exercise and Sport Science (HESS) Department of University of the Cumberlands (UC) during the 56th annual Honors Day program.

Jacob Ratliff (Amelia, Ohio) was presented with the 2015 Honored Graduate in Missions and Ministry Award from University of the Cumberlands (UC) during the 56th annual Honors Day program.

Tedarrius Teasley (Gainesville, Georgia) received several awards and honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day program.

Wesley Diane Hale (Amelia, Ohio) received the Phyllis Richardson Wood Music Scholarship Award from the University of the Cumberlands' (UC) Music Department during the 56th annual Honors Day.

Ethan Scott Worley (London, Kentucky) received the History Department award and other honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day.

Matthew Edward Kelley (Corbin, Kentucky) received the Political Science Department award and other honors at University of the Cumberlands' (UC) 56th annual Honors Day.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Track and Field programs continue to show their superior athleticism as they competed this past weekend in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championships. While numerous athletes earned top finishes, it was six Patriot ladies along with four Patriot men that were honored before the meet began for their excellence in the classroom.
