Patriots' Strong Showing Squandered by Blue Raiders in MSC Semi

The UC Men's Soccer team showed a ton of passion and heart tonight on the field as they took on top seeded Lindsey Wilson College in the Mid-South Conference Tournament Semifinals. Lindsey Wilson would find the back of the net midway through the first half, but UC would battle all night looking for a goal of their own. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful as the Patriots fell to LWC 1-0, ending their season with an overall record of 6-11-3.

UC Volleyball Falls in MSC Quarterfinals

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) volleyball team fell in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament to Life University 3-1 by scores of 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23. With the win, the Eagles improve to 20-11 overall, while UC concludes their season 21-9 overall and a 9-5 MSC record.

The University of the Cumberlands women's soccer team couldn't overcome a four goal deficit as they fell to fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson 5-2 in the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament Thursday afternoon at East Warren High School. With the win the Blue Raiders improve to 14-3, while the Patriots conclude their season with a 10-9-1 record.

The University of the Cumberlands men's basketball team shot 53% from the field, including 57% from behind the arc as the Patriots defeated Ohio Christian 86-47 Wednesday night at the O. Rollins Center. With the win the Patriots improve to 4-1, while the Trailblazers fall to 4-2.

Second Half Surge Sends Georgetown over Patriots

The Patriot football team looked to play the role of spoiler on Saturday as they took on NAIA #18 ranked Georgetown College. The first half looked to be in control of the Patriots who took a 7-7 score into the locker room at halftime. The second half though saw a surge from the Tigers as they would score 24 unanswered points to come away with the 31-7 win over the Patriots.

Patriot Ladies Upended by Lindenwood-Belleville for First Loss of Season

UC Women's Basketball would face the Lynx of Lindenwood University-Belleville on Saturday on Saturday on the second day of play in the Georgetown College Habitat Classic. Back and forth action in the first half between the Patriots and Lynx saw UC enter the locker room with a 25-24 lead. A couple of runs in the second half would spell demise for the Patriots as they fell to the Lynx 57-53, sending UC to 2-1 overall on the season.

The Patriots were back on the road Thursday as they defeated the Phoenix of Cumberland University (CU) 3-2 with scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-13. With the win the Patriots improve to 21-8 overall and 9-5 against the Mid-South Conference, while the Phoenix fall to 18-12 overall and 4-8 in conference play.

Dakota Gadd (SR/Berea, KY) recorded her first career hat trick to help lead the University of the Cumberlands women's soccer team to a 3-0 win over Shawnee State in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament Thursday night at East Warren High School. With the win the Patriots advance to the semifinals next Thursday against Lindsey Wilson.

In his first year at the helm, head coach Chris LeFevre has guided the University of the Cumberlands men's soccer team to a 5-10-3 overall record, including a 3-3-1 mark in conference play and the fourth seed in the Mid-South Conference tournament. The Patriots will face fifth-seed Shawnee State on Friday, November 4, at 8:30 p.m. with the games being played at Warren East High School in Bowling Green, KY.

Fast Start Not Enough as Patriots Fall in Overtime

The University of the Cumberlands men's basketball team got off to a fast start and had Marquis Yates (SR/Manassas, VA) hit a game-tying three at the buzzer to force overtime but it wasn't enough as the Patriots fell 79-76 to Indiana University Southeast Tuesday night at the O. Rollins Center. With the win the Grenadiers move to 1-1, while the Patriots fall to 2-1.

Volleyball Falls to LWC 3-0

UC Volleyball returned to Mid-South Conference play on Tuesday night as they traveled to Columbia to take on fourth-ranked Lindsey Wilson College (LWC). The Patriots were hoping to defeat Blue Raiders, but LWC would shut the Patriots out 3-0 by scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-17. The win takes Lindsey Wilson to 27-1 overall and 12-1 in MSC play as the loss moves UC to 20-8 on the season and 8-5 in conference play.
