The University of the Cumberlands had five different players each net a goal as they Patriots defeated Pikeville 5-0 in Mid-South Conference play, Saturday afternoon at the UC Soccer Field. With the win the Patriots improve to 4-8-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play while the Bears fall to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in MSC play.

Beal Earns First Career NAIA Runner of the Week
Samuel Beal (SR/Beavercreek, OH) earned his first NAIA Runner of the Week award as released by the NAIA today after his impressive fifth place finish at Queens Royals XC Challenge in Charlotte, NC, where Beal was also the first NAIA contestant to cross the line at this event. Beal ran an impressive 24:23.1 which tied a 20 year old school record at the Cumberlands. The record was previously held by Gareth Wilford in 1996.

The Patriots were back on the road Thursday as they defeated the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University (KSU) 3-1 to earn their sixth straight win. This would be the second NCAA Division II matchup and victory for the Patriots this season as they dominated Kentucky Wesleyan 3-1 on October 8. This win moves UC to 18-6 overall and 7-3 in MSC play.

UC Women's Soccer showed determination and drive on Wednesday as they took on the Bears of the University of Pikeville in Mid-South Conference action. The Patriots would dominate the game in possession and on the scoreboard as they shutout the Bears while scoring in double figures, winning the game by a score of 10-0. The University of the Cumberlands men's soccer team was looking to post their first win over a ranked-opponent since 2011, but tenth-ranked Union scored the golden goal in the 96th minute to defeat the Patriots 1-0, Saturday afternoon at the UC Soccer Complex. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 11-2-1, while the Patriots fall to 2-8-2.

UC football returned home for the first time in nearly a month as they hosted the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College for their annual Homecoming game. It was back and forth for much of the contest, but late in the game Lindsey Wilson would surge ahead for a 41-27 victory over the Patriots, moving UC to 2-4 overall on the season.
