Women's Bowling Competes at MSC Louisville Classic
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) women's bowling team made the trip to Louisville, KY for the Louisville Classic. The women would earn a sixth place sixth place finish out of the possible sixteen teams that were entered in the tournament. The women finished fourth amongst the other MSC teams.

The University of the Cumberlands women's swim team, defending Mid-South Conference champions, were picked to finish tied for first-place in the MSC women's swimming coaches' preseason poll, announced Thursday by the conference office. The Patriots and conference rival Lindsey Wilson both received 32 points, including three first place votes in the poll, which was voted on by the conference head coaches.

The University of the Cumberlands women's golf team placed all five golfers on the all-tournament team en route to a 69 stroke victory at the Reinhardt University Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Callahan Golf Links. The Patriots shot 292 in the second round to finish the tournament with a 594.

UC Bowling Finishes 4th at Green River Classic
The UC Men's Bowling team returned to the lanes this past weekend in Campbellsville to take part in the 2016 Green River Classic. With 11 teams competing in the classic, the Patriots looked to swing some momentum their way after a solid showing at the LMU Railsplitter Baker Kick Off. UC had a solid day one, finishing the day in 5th place but only 20 mins outside of 4th. The Pats would have a nice showing on the 2nd day in which they would move up the rankings, finishing the tournament 4th.

The UC Women's Bowling team returned to the lanes this past weekend in Campbellsville to take part in the 2016 Green River Classic. With 10 teams competing in the classic, the Patriot ladies looked to keep their momentum after a win last weekend at the LMU Railsplitter Baker Kick Off. Patriots Fall Short in Battle for the Brass Lantern at Union
The UC Football Patriots made the trip to Barbourville, Kentucky tonight for one of the most highly recognized rivalry games in the NAIA, the Battle for the Brass Lantern, as they faced off against the Bulldogs of Union College. In the highest scoring game in the series history, it was a back-to-back scores for Union in the fourth quarter that would give them the 49-45 win over the Patriots as the Brass Lantern returns to the Bulldogs.

The UC Women's Soccer team entered Saturday's contest looking for their first win over a NAIA Top 10 team in over a decade. They would host the eighth-ranked RedHawks of Martin Methodist College (MMC) for a matchup, and the Patriots would give Martin Methodist all they could ask for. A late goal for the RedHawks though would seal a 2-1 victory over the Patriots, moving UC to 7-4 overall on the season.

UC Volleyball went into tonight's matchup with the Tigers of Campbellsville University (CU) looking to stay hot in Mid-South Conference play. The Patriots looked like they were on their way early to the victory, but the Tigers would rally to win the final three sets to defeat UC 3-2 by scores of 30-28, 26-24, 21-25, 24-26, 10-15. UC now moves to 12-5 overall and 4-2 in MSC play.

Archery Earns Numerous Top Finishes in South Regional Intercollegiate 3D Championships
The UC Archery team had a good start to their 2016-2017 season on Saturday in the South Regional Intercollegiate 3D Championships. There were seven programs represented including UC, EKU, Madisonville, Union, Bethel, Midway, and Campbellsville University. This tournament consisted of 6 divisions, all with individual shooters only, including Men's Compound, Women's Compound, Men's Bowhunter, Women's Bowhunter, Women's Olympic Recurve, and Basic Bow.
