The Patriots took the court this evening to defeat Shawnee State University 3-0 in Mid-South Conference play. This win brought the Patriots to 14-6 overall, and 6-3 in the Mid-South Conference play. Shawnee State University falls to 3-16 overall, and 0-10 in conference play.

They would be able to pull out an eighth place finish out of fifteen teams placing midway through other conference teams.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) women's bowling team made the trip to Louisville, KY for the Thomas Burris Memorial. The women would earn a fourth place finish out of the possible fifteen teams that were entered in the tournament. The women finished third amongst the other MSC teams.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) women's cross country team traveled to Louisville, KY this past weekend for the Greater Louisville Classic. The women would compete in the 5k blue race. The women had some strong performances and would finish 28 out of 4 teams.

The University of the Cumberlands women's swim team started their 2016-2017 season on a good note defeating Lindsey Wilson 144-60, Saturday afternoon. The Patriots got off to a fast start winning the first event, the 200 Yard Medley Relay, with a time of 1:55.36.

UC Women's Soccer hosted the sixth-ranked Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College on Friday as they looked for the upset in Mid-South Conference action. The Patriots would have multiple opportunities at a goal but a lone goal early from LWC would send the Blue Raiders to victory over UC 1-0, moving UC to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in MSC play.

With the win the Patriots improve to 13-6 overall and 5-3 against the Mid-South Conference, while the Phoenix fall to 12-9 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

The Patriots came into the game looking to continue their winning ways in conference play, but the Tigers had other thoughts as GC would defeat UC by a final score of 2-0.

The University of the Cumberlands women's tennis team had a strong showing at the ITA Regionals this past weekend. Isabella Dale (SR/Invercargill, New Zealand) claimed the ITA singles title for the second straight year, while the doubles team of Luka Lyttle (FR) and Denee Lyttle (FR) advanced to the semifinals.

With 11 teams competing in the classic, the Patriots looked to swing some momentum their way after a solid showing at the LMU Railsplitter Baker Kick Off. UC had a solid day one, finishing the day in 5th place but only 20 mins outside of 4th. The Pats would have a nice showing on the 2nd day in which they would move up the rankings, finishing the tournament 4th.

The UC Football Patriots made the trip to Barbourville, Kentucky tonight for one of the most highly recognized rivalry games in the NAIA, the Battle for the Brass Lantern, as they faced off against the Bulldogs of Union College. In the highest scoring game in the series history, it was a back-to-back scores for Union in the fourth quarter that would give them the 49-45 win over the Patriots as the Brass Lantern returns to the Bulldogs.
