Wrestling Trio Compete in NAIA National Championships; Sinkovics Repeats as All-American
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team wrapped up their season at the NAIA National Tournament this past weekend in Topeka, Kansas. The Patriots had three representatives of the team competing in three weight classes at their chance for the National Championships. In the end, one Patriot would earn NAIA All-American honors for his showing in the tournament.

Patriot Softball Splits Doubleheader at Union
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Softball team was back in action on Friday as they traveled to Barbourville, Kentucky to take on the Union College Bulldogs. The Patriots would brave the cold and rain, trying to beat the darkness to get in two games. UC would come away with a loss of 7-2 during game one, but followed with a bat fueled 9-2 victory on the day.

Peace Competes at NAIA Indoor Track & Field Nationals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Indoor Track and Field team wrapped up their indoor season today in Johnson City, Tennessee at East Tennessee State University in the NAIA Indoor National Championships. Although only one Patriot would compete, she would do extremely well as she would become an NAIA All-American.

Patriot Basketball Members Earn MSC Honors
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team will take to the floor on Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament. Before games get under way on Friday, the conference would hold its annual banquet where players would receive individual awards for their season accomplishments. Two Patriots did exceptionally well and for their efforts were honored.

Patriot Basketball Awarded with Conference Academic Honors
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) basketball teams are in the midst of final preparations as they will take to the floor this week in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament in Frankfort, Kentucky. As they look to work hard on the floor in hopes to make big runs in the tournament, many of the Patriots are being rewarded for their dedication to work in the classroom as conference officials announced their Academic All-Conference selections on Wednesday.

UC Cheerleading Leads the Way for Academic All-Conference Selections
The University of the Cumberlands' (UC) Cheerleading squad has made their way through the season and now sets their sights on the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championship this week in Frankfort, Kentucky. Several of the Patriots have been recognized for their hard work in the classroom with the MSC Academic All-Conference Award. This award is given to the athletes who have at least achieved sophomore status along with maintaining a 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team will begin play in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament later this week. The Patriots, who enter the tournament with a 20-10 record (10-6 MSC), had a tough week of action last week, but one player did very well as he was honored on Monday with a weekly award.

Patriot Softball Splits with Racers in New Field Celebration Games
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Softball team was back in action on Sunday, February 28th as they hosted the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) for a doubleheader. Sunday was also the celebration of the new softball complex as UC welcomed back many old and new faces of players and coaches past. The Patriots looked to have a great outing against the Racers in hopes of breaking in the new field in style. UC came out strong in game one with hot bats and a 6-4 victory before losing game two with a score of 8-1. The split gives UC a 4-2 overall record on the season.

Patriot Baseball Sweeps Lakers; Win Streak to Seven
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots Baseball team hosted the last two games of a four game series against Wright State University-Lake (WSUL) Lakers on Sunday, February 28th. UC entered the game after taking two from the Lakers on Saturday and would look to complete the sweep for the weekend series. They did just that with an 8-1 win in game one and a 12-9 win in game two, moving their overall record to 9-2 on the season.

Men's Tennis Earns Big Victory as Women Fall at Carson-Newman
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Tennis teams were in action this weekend as they traveled Friday to Jefferson City, Tennessee to take on the Eagles of Carson-Newman College (CN). The men were able to pull out a close match as they defeated CN 5-4 while the women lost 2-7. The Patriot men move to 4-1 on the season while the women are now 0-4 on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots Baseball team hosted a doubleheader Saturday against Wright State University-Lake (WSUL). The Patriots entered the game after previously sweeping OSU-Lima the previous weekend. The Patriots would begin the four game series with two convincing wins as they looked to earn back to back sweeps on the last two weekends.

Women's Tennis Victorious as Patriot Men Fall at Tennessee Wesleyan
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Tennis teams traveled to Athens, Tennessee to take on the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan College (TWC) on Saturday. Both teams would push TWC to their limits, but only one would be successful. The UC men would fall in a close match 5-3 while the women went on to win the match 5-3. The women's record now moves to 1-4 while the men's record moves to 4-2 on the season.

UC Basketball Earns 20th Win of Season at Lindsey Wilson
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team looked to continue their four game winning streak Thursday, February 25th as they traveled to Columbia, Kentucky to take on the Lindsey Wilson College (LWC) Blue Raiders. UC would lead by as much as 15 in the contest, but would come away with a two point win, 70-68, over the Blue Raiders, moving their winning streak to five games. UC now holds an overall record of 20-9 on the season and are 10-5 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) action.

Late Lead Lost as Patriot Ladies Fall to #19 Lindsey Wilson
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team were on the road on Thursday, February 25th as they faced the #19 ranked Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College (LWC). The Patriots and Blue Raiders would trade the lead back and forth for a majority of the game, but in the end it was Lindsey Wilson who would take the lead for good in the 4th quarter, scraping away with a 72-66 victory over the Patriots. The loss moves UC to 11-14 overall this season and 2-11 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Patriots Trio Qualify for NAIA Wrestling National Championships
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team competed this past weekend at the NAIA East Regionals/Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championships. As a number of Patriots did well, one Patriot did exceptionally well and earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships. Two other men learned their fate on Tuesday as now the Patriots will send a trio of athletes to Topeka, Kansas to compete for a national title.

Patriot Archery on Target at KY State Indoor Tournament
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Archery Team had a great start to their indoor season on Saturday, shooting in the Inaugural Collegiate Indoor State Tournament in Ashland, Kentucky. Along with UC, there were five other schools represented; Union College, Midway University, Kentucky Christian University, Campbellsville University, and Eastern Kentucky University.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Baseball team looked to finish out a series sweep as they hosted Ohio State University-Lima on Sunday. The doubleheader was reduced to just a single game due to weather conditions, but UC was still looking to earn their first series sweep of the season. The Patriots came out strong as the bats continued to stay hot, cruising to a 15-0 victory to lock up the sweep. The win moves the Patriots to 5-2 overall on the season.

The Patriots were looking to impress against some strong competition while also qualifying for the NAIA National Championships. UC would have six athletes finish in the top six of their weight class.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots Baseball team hosted their first doubleheader of the season on Saturday against the Ohio State University-Lima (OSUL) Barons. The Patriots entered the game coming off a rough, late-inning loss on Thursday to Union College. With a new day, the Patriots quickly jumped to victory in both games over the Barons, looking for the four game series sweep on Sunday.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team was in action on Saturday for Senior Day as they hosted the #4 ranked Bears of the University of Pikeville (UPike). The Patriots were looking for a fond farewell for their seven seniors as they were looking for their first regular season sweep of UPike since 2010. UC would battle seven lead changes in the game, but it was the Patriots would come out on top 79-78, moving their overall record to 19-9 on the season and 9-5 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team would take to their home floor for the final time of the season on Saturday as they hosted the University of Pikeville (UPike) for Senior Day. UC would look to send their lone senior LaTeesha DeLoach (Florissant, MO) off with a big win in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play, but the Bears would not allow that as they would knock off the Patriots 68-64. The loss would move UC to 11-13 on the season and 2-10 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Patriot Lacrosse Wins Convincingly in First Game at Montreat
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team would open up their inaugural season on the road in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Friday at Montreat College (MC) in Montreat, North Carolina. With the Patriots anxiously awaiting to hit the field for the first time in program history, emotions would run high throughout the game as UC would band together for a very convincing first win in program history, defeating Montreat by a final score of 22-8.

Women's Lacrosse Opens Inaugural Season with Win over Pikeville
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Lacrosse team would open up their inaugural season on Friday, February 19th at the UC Lacrosse Complex in Williamsburg, KY against the University of Pikeville (UPike). With over 200 people in attendance for the first ever women's game in program history, the Patriot ladies were sure to not disappoint their fans. The Patriots came out hot and never looked back, garnering an 11-6 win over the Bears for the first win in program history.

After holding a four point lead at halftime, UC would find its groove in the 2nd half, cruising to a 73-56 victory over SCC. The win moves the Patriots to 9-12 overall on the season and 1-9 in MSC play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Bowling teams returned to action as they traveled to Erlanger, KY to participate in the second tournament of the weekend, the Norse Classic. The Patriots again saw action against some of the top talent of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) and were determined to show their best against rivals and Division I opponents.
