Patriots Sweep Bears in Season Series on Senior Day
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team was in action on Saturday for Senior Day as they hosted the #4 ranked Bears of the University of Pikeville (UPike). The Patriots were looking for a fond farewell for their seven seniors as they were looking for their first regular season sweep of UPike since 2010. UC would battle seven lead changes in the game, but it was the Patriots would come out on top 79-78, moving their overall record to 19-9 on the season and 9-5 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Patriot Ladies Fall to Bears on Senior Day
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team would take to their home floor for the final time of the season on Saturday as they hosted the University of Pikeville (UPike) for Senior Day. UC would look to send their lone senior LaTeesha DeLoach (Florissant, MO) off with a big win in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play, but the Bears would not allow that as they would knock off the Patriots 68-64. The loss would move UC to 11-13 on the season and 2-10 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Patriot Lacrosse Wins Convincingly in First Game at Montreat
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Lacrosse team would open up their inaugural season on the road in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play on Friday at Montreat College (MC) in Montreat, North Carolina. With the Patriots anxiously awaiting to hit the field for the first time in program history, emotions would run high throughout the game as UC would band together for a very convincing first win in program history, defeating Montreat by a final score of 22-8.

Women's Lacrosse Opens Inaugural Season with Win over Pikeville
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Lacrosse team would open up their inaugural season on Friday, February 19th at the UC Lacrosse Complex in Williamsburg, KY against the University of Pikeville (UPike). With over 200 people in attendance for the first ever women's game in program history, the Patriot ladies were sure to not disappoint their fans. The Patriots came out hot and never looked back, garnering an 11-6 win over the Bears for the first win in program history.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team continued to look for their 1st Mid-South Conference (MSC) victory on Thursday as they hosted the Patriots of St. Catharine College (SCC). After holding a four point lead at halftime, UC would find its groove in the 2nd half, cruising to a 73-56 victory over SCC. The win moves the Patriots to 9-12 overall on the season and 1-9 in MSC play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Tennis teams hosted Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) on Friday. The UC Patriots fought hard and were able to come out with one win. The men won 6-3 moving their overall record to 2-0. The women could not find the momentum to come away with a victory as they lost 6-3, giving them an overall record of 0-3.

Patriot Ladies Win MSC Championships; Men Finish Runner-Up
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swimming teams competed this past week in one of their biggest events of the season, the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championships in Kingsport, Tennessee. The three-day event would see the Patriots excel in numerous events. After the grueling three days were complete, it was the Patriot ladies hoisting the MSC Championship for the 2nd straight season as they finished 1st of 7 teams. The men's team made a great effort, but in the end would finish 2nd of 6 competing teams overall.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team was back in action this weekend as they continued their season on the road at the Greyhound Open in Indianapolis, Indiana. As numerous Patriots went to compete, they looked to truly get into a groove for the remainder of their 2016 schedule. Many of the Patriots had very good performances at the tournament with a number of athletes earning spots on the podium.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team were back on the road Saturday as they took on the #2 ranked Tigers of Georgetown College (GC). UC trailed at the end of the first half 46-41, but showed their resiliency as they finished strong and took the victory 86-83, making GC the second conference foe to fall to UC while ranked in the NAIA Top 5 on their home floor. The win moves UC to 16-9 overall on the season and 6-5 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Women's Basketball Fall to Tigers in Final Minutes
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team would travel to Georgetown College to face off against the Tigers, hoping to gain a win in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play. UC would start the game strong leading the first half by one point and continuing to increase their lead to five by the start of the 4th, but the Tigers would gain momentum in the last moments of the game that would give them the victory over the Patriots 69-67. The loss moves the Patriots to 8-12 overall on the season and 0-9 in MSC play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team looked to carry their momentum from Saturday's conference win into Monday night as they hosted NAIA #5 ranked Georgetown College (GC) for a big Mid-South Conference (MSC) matchup. Both teams would show strong points in the game, but the Patriots couldn't rebound from the athletic play from the Tigers, falling to Georgetown 86-73. The loss moves UC to 15-8 on the season and 5-4 in MSC play.

Patriot Ladies Lose Lead Late in Loss to Tigers
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team returned to action on Monday for a rare Mid-South Conference (MSC) matchup against the Tigers of Georgetown College (GC). UC would jump out early on the Tigers, holding a 13 point lead at one point in the 1st half. The Tigers were relentless in the 2nd half as UC went cold from the field, giving up the lead late in the 4th in a 44-40 loss to Georgetown. The loss moves UC to 8-10 on the season and 0-7 in MSC play.

UC had seven members of their team competing on the weekend, some competing for their respective club teams.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team returned to their home floor on Tuesday night in non-conference action as they hosted Carver College (CC). The Patriots would look to avenge an early season loss to the Cougars on their home floor, but it would be a tough task as Carver would hang with the Patriots early. UC would then find their rhythm from the floor as they would pull away for the 74-53 victory, moving their overall record to 14-7 on the season.
