Volleyball's Beck Snags 4th MSC Weekly Award of the Season
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team is in the midst of one of their most successful seasons in school history. Currently at 27-9 overall this season, the Patriots now focus their attention on the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament this week. With two more big conference wins last week, one Patriot continued to show why she is one of the best in the conference and for her efforts was awarded yet again.

Patriot Bowling Strikes in Brunswick Southern Classic
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Bowling teams returned to action this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia at the Brunswick Southern Collegiate Classic Tournament. The teams would compete in six match play games and 12 Baker games. Finishing out two days of tournament play, the men's team placed 18th out of 22 teams and the women placed 11th out of 18 teams.

Patriot Runners Earn MSC All-Conference Honors
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots' Cross Country teams competed this past weekend at the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championship meet in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The men's team would earn a 3rd place finish overall with a score of 91 points while the women would finish 4th with a score of 128 points. Both the men and women's teams had great performances and would have individuals earn MSC All-Conference honors.

Patriot Soccer Shutout by Tigers in MSC Semifinals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team continued their run in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Friday as they took on the #1 seeded Tigers of Campbellsville University (CU). Both teams fought hard as the first half stayed scoreless. Unfortunately, the Tigers found a goal late in the 2nd half that gave them the lead 1-0, which they would hold on to for the victory. This loss brings the Patriots' overall record of 11-8-1 as their season comes to a close.

Cross Country Patriots Compete in MSC Championships
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Cross Country team took to the course on Saturday, November 7th after a week off to compete in their biggest event of the season, the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championships. The Patriots were hoping the week off would help them as they had one last attempt to qualify for nationals. UC wouldn't qualify their teams to the NAIA National Championships, but two individuals will travel to compete in the race.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team came into Saturday's doubleheader with Mid-South Conference (MSC) opposition Life University looking for two big MSC wins. With the Patriots jockeying for MSC tournament seeding position, the matchup with Life would be critical. UC would get the job done securing two big MSC wins and moving their overall record to 27-9 (9-7 MSC).

Women's Basketball Defeats Dillard; Opens Season 3-0
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team continued their impressive play in the Georgetown College Habitat Classic as they earned a 50-49 win over the Bleu Devils of Dillard University. After trailing 33-24 at the half, an explosive 3rd quarter by the Patriot ladies and consistent play in the 4th gave them the momentum they needed to earn the one point victory. With the win, the Patriots improve to 3-0 overall on the season.

Football Patriots Fall to Tigers in Season Finale
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football Patriots looked to finish out their regular season with a victory on Saturday which would secure the Mid-South Conference (MSC) East Division championship. It would not be an easy task though as they would take on a Georgetown College (GC) Tiger team that was riding a 4 game winning streak coming into the contest. Unfortunately for UC, it was not the ending they were looking for as UC would drop their regular season finale 30-13 to the Tigers. The loss moves UC to 7-3 on the season and 4-1 in MSC East play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky to participate in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament. The Patriots, who were seeded #5 in the tournament, faced the #4 seeded Bulldogs of Cumberland University (CU) on Thursday evening. The Bulldogs pulled ahead early in the first half with two goals for a 2-0 lead at the break. UC would rally with a goal, but CU would answer late with another score to earn the 3-1 win over the Patriots, ending UC's season. The Patriot ladies would end their season with an overall record of 10-5-3.

Patriot Soccer Advances in MSC Tourney with Win over St. Catharine
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team traveled to Bowling Green, Kentucky to join others as they compete in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament. The Patriots would earn the #5 seed as they took on #4 seed St. Catharine College (SCC) on Thursday, November 5th. UC was able to get ahead early with a 2-1 lead going into the half. The Patriots continued the momentum in the second half, adding 2 more insurance goals while keeping St. Catharine at bay. UC knocked out St. Catharine by a final of 4-1, bringing the Patriots' record to 11-7-1 on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team hosted their season opener on Tuesday in the O. Wayne Rollins Center against the Grenadiers of Indiana University-Southeast (IUSE). With many new faces and a ton of skill and ability, the Patriots would show a heavy push in the 2nd half to come away with a 15 point win, 85-70.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team opened up their 2015-2016 season this weekend as they hosted the Patriot Open at the O. Wayne Rollins Center. In what has became a traditional kickoff for the Patriot Men's Wrestling team it would have the same success it has in the previous years. The Patriots hosted several schools from all over the country and saw great finishes among some of the best the NAIA has to offer.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team put on a good show on Saturday as they hosted and defeated the Bears of Shawnee State University (SSU) with the 4-0 win on Senior Day. The Patriot seniors were honored before the game including Justin Sheanshang (Highland Heights, KY), Ethan Goodrich (Union, KY), Ayman Abuzour (Gray, KY), and Colton Flynn (Somerset, KY). The victory for UC moves their record to 10-7-1 on the season and 3-4 in MSC play, which will place the Patriots 5th in the conference heading into the postseason.

Women's Soccer Wins on Senior Day vs. Shawnee State
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer Patriots ended their regular season on Saturday in fine fashion, taking down Shawnee State University (SSU) on Senior Day. UC recognized their seniors, Victoria Paynter (Sulphur, KY), Emily Maddux (Andersonville, TN), and Monica Kubick (Knoxville, TN) before the game, but during the game it was all business as the Patriots would come away with a 3-0 victory over the Bears. The win gives the Patriots a record of 10-4-3 overall and 3-3-1 in MSC play, which should place UC in 5th overall in the conference heading into postseason play.

Patriot Swimming Splits Against West Virginia Tech
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swimming and Diving team were on the road as they traveled to Montgomery, West Virginia to swim against the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech (WVT) University. This meet was the 4th in four weeks for the Patriots as fatigue was surely going to become a factor at some point. The Patriot ladies swam away with the win beating the Golden Bears 128-56. However, the UC men would fall short to a talented Golden Bears squad by the score of 126-79.

Patriot Volleyball Bounces Back Against Bears
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball Patriots were back in action on Saturday, October 31st as they traveled to Portsmouth, Ohio to take on the Shawnee State University (SSU) Bears. This would be a critical contest for the Patriots as they were looking for a much-needed Mid-South Conference (MSC) win and to bounce back from a difficult match against Georgetown College on Thursday. UC did just that with a straight sets victory over the Bears by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-23. With the win, the Patriots now move to 25-8 and 7-6 in MSC play.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team opened up their 2015-2016 season on the road in Midway, Kentucky against the Eagles of Midway University (MU). The Patriots would look to start off on the right foot with a win Thursday night and did just so. UC would lead 24-17 at the break and never look back, earning a 71-47 victory. With the win, the Patriots move to 1-0 on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team traveled to Georgetown College (GC) on Thursday, October 29th to face off against the NAIA #18 ranked Tigers. The Patriots were looking to steal a win from the Tigers and avenge a loss from earlier in the season on UC's home court. Unfortunately, it was not the Patriots' night as the Tigers would sweep UC by scores of 25-14, 25-18, 25-13. With the loss, the Patriots record moves to 24-9 overall and 6-7 in the Mid-South Conference (MSC).

Women's Soccer Knocks Off Knights for 9th Win
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team hosted the Knights of St. Andrews University (SAU) on Wednesday in their Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The Patriot ladies honored those fighters properly with a victory. Even after outshooting the Knights 9-1 in the 1st half, it was a 0-0 tie after 45 minutes of play. A goal late in the 2nd half was the deciding factor in a 1-0 victory for the Patriots, moving their record overall to 9-4-3 record on the season.

Patriot Soccer Battles but Falls to Knights
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team hosted the Knights of St. Andrews University (SAU) on Wednesday in a mid-week, non-conference matchup. The Knights jumped ahead early with 4 goals within 7 minutes in the 1st half while UC could only counter with 1 to trail by 3 at the half. The Knights would add another goal (54') to make it 5-1. UC would break through with 3 goals (72', 76', 81') to make it 5-4 with just under 9 minutes to play. However, the Knights would hold off the Patriot attack, taking a 5-4 victory over UC. The loss brings UC's record to 9-7-1 on the season.

Women's Wrestling Impresses at Cliff Keen Duals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling team was back on the road this past weekend to compete in the Cliff Keen Duals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Patriots looked to continue their very successful start to the 2015-16 season in one of the premiere tournaments in the country. The Patriots held their own and showed why they are one of the best teams in the nation. The Patriot ladies entered two teams in the tournament as the UC Blue team finished in 4th place in the Gold bracket while the UC Red squad earned 1st place in the Bronze bracket. The highlight of the tournament was Cumberlands' Blue team, who is ranked #7 in the WCWA polls, defeating the #1 ranked Campbellsville Tigers in the first day of action.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball Patriots took to the court on Tuesday, October 27th as they hosted non-conference opposition Kentucky State University (KSU). The Patriots were looking to bounce back from a loss in their last game against Indiana Tech University. After slumping early dropping set 1, UC would kick into gear to win the next three to win the match 3-1 by scores of 19-25, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19. UC now moves to 24-8 overall on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team is coming off a busy week of play. The Patriots were able to pull out several wins this week starting with University of Pikeville on Tuesday and then at the Indiana Tech University on Friday where they went 3-1 in a late-season tournament. One Patriot was a huge asset not only this week, but in weeks prior helping the Patriots to a record of 23-8 overall this season. The Mid-South Conference (MSC) took notice once again as she was honored again this season.
