Washington Wins Weekly MSC Defensive Award
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football team is coming off a solid 48-29 victory this past weekend over the University of Pikeville. All of the Patriots gave great performances during the win, but one Patriot would stand out with a huge defensive presence and for his efforts was rewarded by the Mid-South Conference (MSC).

UC Swimming Cruises to Tri-Match Victory
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swimming and Diving team hosted a tri-match on Saturday, October 24th against Bethel University and St. Catharine College. Both teams were looking for an early season victory as they look to build momentum. The women were pursuing their 2nd win of the season while the men were looking for their 1st. Both teams would come out on top as the women defeated St. Catharine 125-25 and defeated Bethel 123-34. The Patriot men would defeat Bethel as well by a score of 124-34. St. Catharine did not enter a men's swim team for the event.

Soccer Pats Fall on Road at St. Catharine
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team hit the road on Friday as they traveled to St. Catharine, Kentucky to take on the Patriots of St. Catharine College (SCC). The home Patriots came out of the gate early in the first half and took the 1-0 lead headed into the break. UC would attempt to rally back, but SCC would sneak in one more goal in the second half that would solidify their 2-0 lead and the victory. The loss brings UC's record to 9-6-1 on the year and 2-4 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

UC Women's Soccer Stalled Out by #1 Ranked Blue Raiders
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team took to the field on Saturday evening in Columbia, Kentucky to take on the NAIA #1 ranked Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College (LWC). UC put up a tough fight in the first half but fell behind 3-1 at the break to the Blue Raiders. LWC continued to find shot opportunities and were able to convert on 3 more attempts, taking a 6-1 victory over the Patriots. The loss moves UC to 8-4-3 overall (2-3-1 MSC).

Volleyball Splits Matches on Final Day at Indiana Tech Tournament
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team was back on the court on Saturday, October 24th as they finished up their second day of play at the Indiana Tech University Tournament. After playing well in the tournament the day before, the Patriots looked to continue their hot play on Saturday. UC would split on the day, finishing the weekend 3-1 at the tournament and moving their overall record to 23-8 on the year.

Craig's Career Day Leads UC to Victory over Pikeville
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football team looked to remain unbeaten in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play on Saturday as they hosted the Bears of the University of Pikeville (UPike). UC and UPike would trade turnovers early, but UC would right the ship as they would dominate most of the next three quarters, taking the 48-29 victory, improving their overall record to 6-2 and moving to 3-0 in MSC East Division play.

Patriot XC Teams Compete in Sandshark Invite
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Cross Country teams were back on the course on Saturday, October 24th after a week off to compete in the Sandshark Invite in Bluffton, South Carolina. Last season, the Patriots dominated in this event as several members of the team were able to record their personal bests on a relatively flat course. With the teams looking to continue to impress, and a stacked NAIA field, UC hoped to have similar results this year.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team entered the weekend tournament on Friday, October 23rd at Indiana Tech University looking for 4 huge wins. After an impressive victory on Wednesday against Mid-South Conference (MSC) foe Pikeville, the Patriots were hoping to continue their success in a rare tournament towards the end of their season. UC was able to do that, earning two big wins on the day.

UC Women's Soccer Team Wins with Late Surge over St. Catharine
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team traveled on Wednesday to St. Catharine, KY to take on the Patriots of St. Catharine College (SCC). SCC would score twice in the 1st half, giving them a 2-0 lead at the break. They continued control early in the 2nd half with another goal, but in the final 32 minutes, it was all UC as they would rally to score four unanswered goals to take a 4-3 victory over SCC. This great comeback victory gives the Patriots an 8-3-3 overall record and 2-2-1 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

Patriot Wrestling Ranked in NAIA Top 20 Poll; Sinkovics Named Preseason #1
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling program has begun preparations for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The Patriots come in with high hopes as they return numerous key members of last year's squad plus a very impressive freshman class. The NAIA took notice of the Patriots in their preseason NAIA Top 25 poll released on Tuesday, October 21.

Patriot Volleyball Dominates Bears on Senior Night
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team came into their contest on Tuesday, October 21st against the University of Pikeville looking for a much needed Mid-South Conference (MSC) win. The Patriots were also looking to send their two seniors, Samantha Stuckwisch (Seymour, IN) and Morgan Schlatter (Springboro, OH) out with a victory on their senior night. UC did just that as they took the victory in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-22, 25-8.

UC's Dale Competes at ITA Nationals
University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Tennis athlete Isabella Dale (Invercargill, New Zealand) competed in the ITA Nationals on Saturday, October 17th in Sumter, South Carolina. Dale looked to continue her dominance on the court as she won the ITA Regionals earlier this fall to qualify for the ITA Nationals. The challenge would be tough for Dale as she would be coming in as the 4th seed. Dale competed to the best of her ability, but fell short of being a National Champion as she finished in 6th place overall.

Patriot Golf Earns Top 5 Finish at NAIA Preview
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Golf team took to the links on Monday and Tuesday in Silvis, Illinois at the NAIA Fall Preview at TPC Deere Run. The tournament would showcase a plethora of top tier talent in the NAIA, including nine NAIA Top 25 teams and five teams receiving votes. UC would put together two solid rounds over the two-day event to earn a T-5th finish out of 24 teams.

Patriots Bowl Well at UPike Orange and Black Classic
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Bowling teams returned to action this past weekend in Centerville, Ohio at the UPike Orange and Black Classic. The teams would compete in 5 team rounds and 16 Baker games. After the two day tournament, the men's team finished 11th out of 26 teams and the women's team finished 17th out of 26 teams.

Women's Wrestling Has Strong Showing at Emmanuel
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling team was back in action this past weekend at the Emmanuel College Tournament in Franklin Springs, GA. This would be the first match for the Patriots on the road, and one where they were looking to improve on their strong first outing of the season. UC showed dominance as they would take home the team championship as they claimed 5 championships and numerous top 6 finishes in several weight classes.

Patriot Football Returns to Win Column vs. Kentucky Christian
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football team looked to get back to their winning ways on Saturday as they traveled to Grayson, Kentucky to take on the Knights of Kentucky Christian University (KCU). The Patriots made the best of every opportunity as they tallied 56 points in the contest, only missing out on converting 3 of their 11 possessions for points. The Patriot defense also did their job, limiting the Knights to 263 yards of offense in the game as UC prevailed 56-17 over KCU, moving their overall record to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 Mid-South Conference (MSC) East.

Patriot Ladies Beat Buffalos; Earn 7th Win of Season
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team hosted the Buffaloes of Milligan College on Saturday. The Patriots took control by scoring a goal in the first half taking the 1-0 lead into halftime. Both teams amplified their defense in the second half, but it was the lone goal from the 1st half that was enough to seal the victory for UC 1-0 against the Buffaloes. The victory brings the Patriots' record to 7-3-3 on the season.

Men's Soccer Shoots Down Eagles of Cincinnati Christian
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team returned home on Saturday as they hosted the Eagles of Cincinnati Christian University (CCU) while also recognizing a few outstanding American War Veterans for Military Appreciation Day. UC wanted to honor the veterans properly with a victory and did just that, soaring to a 5-1 win over the Eagles. The win brings the Patriots' record to 9-5-1 overall on the season.

Patriot Swimming Splits with Bulldogs
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swimming teams traveled to Barbourville, KY on Saturday, October 17th for a dual against local rival Union College. The Patriots were looking to improve after a tough loss to Division II opponent Carson-Newman to start the season. For the women they improved tremendously beating the Bulldogs 149-42. The men came up just short against Union losing 113-105.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team traveled to Pikeville, Kentucky to take on the Bears of the University of Pikeville. UC was able to find the back of the net in the first half off a penalty kick and had the 1-0 lead going into halftime. The Bears were unable to find any momentum in the 2nd half as UC scored an insurance goal in the 2nd half off another PK, giving them the 2-0 victory over Pikeville. The win brings UC's overall record to 8-5-1 and 2-3 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.

UC Tennis Ends Fall Season With UC Invite
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Tennis teams hosted their annual UC Invite Tournament on Saturday, October 11th. This would be one final tune up before they start training and preparing for their 2016 spring season. The men's team would compete against three very solid teams including Bellarmine University (BU), Lincoln Memorial University (LMU), and Union College. The women's team would only compete against LMU. The Patriots were able to see great success in individual and doubles action. They look to carry this momentum into the spring season.

Women's Wrestling Begins Season in Patriot Duals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling program launched their 2015-2016 season this past weekend at the 2nd annual Patriot Duals. The tournament was held at the O. Wayne Rollins Center on the UC campus in Williamsburg. The Patriots were able to host 18 teams including some of the top teams in the country. The Patriot ladies competed strongly during the two days of the duals as the UC "A" squad claimed 3rd place overall while UC's "B" squad took home the 12th place spot.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Soccer team traveled Saturday, October 10th to Barbourville, Kentucky to take on the Bulldogs of Cumberland University (CU). Due to field conditions the game was held at Union College, but was considered a home game. The Patriots fought an uphill battle throughout the majority of the game as they left with a 4-0 loss to the Bulldogs. The loss moves UC to 5-3-3 on the season and 0-2-1 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) action.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball team traveled to Bryan College on Saturday October 10th for a tri-match against the Bryan College Lions (BC) and the Milligan College Buffaloes (MC). The Patriots were looking to get back in the win column as they were in the midst of a three game losing streak. The task wouldn't be easy as they would be facing two very good opponents from the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

Patriots Soccer Defeated by Undefeated Cumberland Bulldogs
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team had to travel to Barbourville, KY to play their home match against the Bulldogs of Cumberland University (CU) due to the recent inclimate weather. The Bulldogs scored the first goal and went in to the half with the 1-0 lead. The second half started much like the first with great defense, yet CU snuck another goal in and solidified their victory over UC by a final of 2-0. The loss now brings the Patriots' season record to 7-5-1 and 1-3 in Mid-South Conference (MSC) play.
