Patriots' Carter Earns MSC Weekly Award
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team is currently riding a 6 game winning streak, improving their record now to 9-3 overall on the season. Last week, the Patriots would run off three more victories including an upset win over NAIA #1 ranked University of Pikeville on Thursday. During UC's three wins this week, one player showed his leadership on the floor and for his efforts was awarded this week by the Mid-South Conference (MSC).

Patriot Women's Wrestling Team Impresses at NAIA Invitational
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling team was back in action on Saturday, December 5th as they competed in the NAIA Invitational in Campbellsville, Kentucky. The Patriot ladies came in with a lot of momentum and were looking to finish out their last meet of the fall semester with an impressive showing. The Patriots would have a solid day and would leave the day with five 1st place finishes and multiple placing finishes in their respective weight classes. As a team, UC came away with 3rd place overall in the tournament, just missing out on 2nd place by 1 point by Campbellsville University.

Patriot Basketball Earns Win at IU-Southeast
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team have been on a solid streak of late with great defensive play and hitting timely shots. The Patriots would continue their 8 game road trip on Saturday in New Albany, Indiana as they took on the Grenadiers of Indiana University-Southeast (IU-SE). UC would trail by 3 entering the 2nd half, but would rebound for a 69-68 victory, extending their winning streak to 3 games. The Patriots now sit at 6-3 overall on the year.

Women's Basketball Falls on the Road to UPike, WV Tech
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team began the week with high hopes to return to the win column after a tough 72-58 loss to the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University. UC would have two opportunities to do that as they began a 4 game road stretch with a game at the University of Pikeville (UPike) on Thursday and another at West Virginia Tech (WVT) on Saturday. Unfortunately, UC would not have the luck they needed as they dropped both contests, falling to UPike 84-78 in overtime and 61-59 to WVT. UC's overall record now sits at 6-3 (0-1 Mid-South Conference).

Patriot Wrestling Goes 2-1 in Weekend Duals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Wrestling team had a full weekend of competition. The Patriots looked to start off their Mid-South Conference (MSC) schedule with a bang, continuing their hot start to the season. UC would have a jam packed schedule during the weekend, participating in 3 dual meets. The first meet would be Saturday, December 5th against Truett-McConnell. UC was able to cruise to this victory, winning 41-10.

Select Patriots Honored with Soccer Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards
Though the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Soccer seasons are over, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) continues to hand out their yearly awards. On Friday, the NAIA would announce the 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. There were a total of 588 women and 382 men who earned this elite honor from the NAIA.

Patriot Swimming Earns National Attention From CollegeSwimming.com
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Swimming & Diving teams just wrapped up their fall schedule with intense competition at the Cleveland State Invitational. The Patriots competed well and saw numerous swimmers qualify for nationals at the meet. Although UC didn't come away with the win, several Patriots swam well, earning national praise from the media.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team headed into the Bluefield College Classic on Friday looking to redeem themselves after dropping a one-point loss to St. Thomas on Wednesday. The Patriots faced the Fighting Yellow Jackets of Allen University in the opening day of play before taking on Methodist College on Saturday. UC looked solid in both games as they came away with two victories, moving their overall record on the season to 5-3.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Basketball team traveled on Saturday to Lincoln Memorial University to take on the Railsplitters. The Patriot ladies took the lead early in the game, but would trail at the half by 3. The Railsplitters picked up play in the 4th quarter to advance their lead and finish off the Patriots 72-58, handing UC their 1st loss of the season. UC now sits at 6-1 overall on the year.

Late Run Cushions UC's Basketball Victory over Red Storm
The University of the Cumberlands Men's Basketball Patriots took to the floor on Tuesday night as they hosted the University of Rio Grande Red Storm in a non-conference matchup. A back and forth 1st half would ensue as UC held a slim 2 point advantage, 37-35, at the half. The Patriots would close the game on a 17-6 run in the last 6 minutes to take a 90-72 victory over Rio Grande. The win moves UC to 3-1 overall on the season.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Basketball team was looking to get back into the win column as they hosted rival Union College on Saturday. Solid first half play by the Patriots allowed them to take an 11 point lead into the locker room at halftime. UC would never give up the lead in the second half, going on to earn the 74-61 win over the Bulldogs. With the win, the Patriots are now 2-1 on the season.

Patriot Volleyball Falls in MSC Quarterfinals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Volleyball Patriots entered play in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament on Thursday, November 12th looking for their second consecutive season with a tournament win. The test would be tough as they would face a tough Campbellsville Tigers squad who they split wins with earlier this season. The Tigers would prevail in the rubber match defeating UC 3-2 by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 19-25, 21-25, 15-13. With the loss, UC finishes the 2015 season with a 27-10 record, the most wins since 2004, and a 9-7 MSC record.

Looking to get their second win of the season, the Patriots came out strong in the first half and would hold a 36-29 lead at the break. However, turnovers by the Patriots proved to be costly and the Cougars would come away with the three point win over UC 72-69. With the loss, the Patriots are now 1-1 on the season.

Women's Wrestling Splits with Life University; Nelson Competes at Bill Farrell Open
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Women's Wrestling team was back in action this past weekend as they traveled to Marietta, Georgia to take on the Running Eagles of Life University. Both 'A' and 'B' squads competed for Cumberlands and the Patriots would split the dual. UC's 'A' team cruised to victory over Life by a score of 28-16 while the 'B' team would struggle against Life's 'B' squad as they would be defeated by a score of 39-9.

Patriot Bowling Strikes in Brunswick Southern Classic
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men and Women's Bowling teams returned to action this past weekend in Atlanta, Georgia at the Brunswick Southern Collegiate Classic Tournament. The teams would compete in six match play games and 12 Baker games. Finishing out two days of tournament play, the men's team placed 18th out of 22 teams and the women placed 11th out of 18 teams.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Patriots' Cross Country teams competed this past weekend at the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championship meet in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The men's team would earn a 3rd place finish overall with a score of 91 points while the women would finish 4th with a score of 128 points. Both the men and women's teams had great performances and would have individuals earn MSC All-Conference honors.

Patriot Soccer Shutout by Tigers in MSC Semifinals
The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men's Soccer team continued their run in the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Friday as they took on the #1 seeded Tigers of Campbellsville University (CU). Both teams fought hard as the first half stayed scoreless. Unfortunately, the Tigers found a goal late in the 2nd half that gave them the lead 1-0, which they would hold on to for the victory. This loss brings the Patriots' overall record of 11-8-1 as their season comes to a close.

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Cross Country team took to the course on Saturday, November 7th after a week off to compete in their biggest event of the season, the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Championships. The Patriots were hoping the week off would help them as they had one last attempt to qualify for nationals. UC wouldn't qualify their teams to the NAIA National Championships, but two individuals will travel to compete in the race.

With the win, the Patriots improve to 3-0 overall on the season.
