Patriot Ladies Successful in Victory over Life University
The UC Women's Basketball team looked for their second Mid-South Conference win of the season on Saturday as they traveled to take on the Running Eagles of Life University. After leaping out ahead of Life early, the Patriots never looked back as they defeated the Eagles 80-67. The victory moves UC to 6-3 overall on the season (2-1 MSC).

Double the Fun: the McGaha Twins Continue Unique Cumberlands Legacy
For most athletes, qualifying for a national championship is the biggest goal, and for Maureen McGaha (SR/Beavercreek, OH) and Meg McGaha (SR/Beavercreek, OH) that accomplishment was a double-dip of excitement as the twins both competed at the 2016 NAIA Cross Country National Championships held in Elsah, IL. They became the third set of twins from Cumberlands to achieve this milestone since 1997.

Patriots Tame Bears as Butcher Earns 200th Home Win
The University of the Cumberlands men's basketball team used a 14-6 run to end the first half and defeat Shawnee State 71-66 in Mid-South Conference action Monday night at the O. Wayne Rollins Center. The win was also a milestone for UC Head Coach Donnie Butcher, who earned his 200th career home victory.

Patriots Fight Back but Fall to Bears 72-64
The Patriot ladies returned to action on a rare Monday night in Mid-South conference action as they hosted the Bears of Shawnee State University. Early on, the Bears would take control holding a 16 point lead at the halftime break. UC would battle back in the second half, but the lead was a bit too much to overcome as the Bears defeated the Patriots 72-64. The loss moves the Patriots to 5-3 overall on the season (1-1 MSC).

After a strong fall season, Isabella Dale (SR/Invercargill, New Zealand) is ranked fourth in the ITA NAIA women's tennis rankings, which were announced on November 22. Dale also earned the top spot in the East Region.

Patriots Victorious in MSC Opener vs. Tigers
UC Women's Basketball opened up Mid-South Conference play on Saturday as they hosted the Tigers of Georgetown College. From the opening tip, UC took control of the game as the Tigers had to battle against a stingy Patriot defense. The Patriots would take care of business, defeating Georgetown by a score of 65-54, moving UC to 5-2 overall on the season (1-0 MSC).

Late Rally Comes up Short as Patriots Fall in Conference Opener
The University of the Cumberlands men's basketball team tried to overcome a 12-point second half deficit but came up just short as the Patriots fell 62-58 to second-ranked Georgetown in their Mid-South Conference opener Saturday afternoon at the O. Rollins Center. With the win the Tigers improve to 9-1 overall and 1-0 in the MSC, while the Patriots fall to 8-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
