UC's BCM Serves Beach Reach in Panama City
University of the Cumberlands' (UC) Baptist Campus Ministries (BCM) sent four teams out for their annual spring break mission trips across the east coast. BCM sent 11 people, including UC's campus minister Dean Whitaker, to Panama City Beach, Florida for a week to provide free shuttle rides and free pancake breakfasts to beachgoers.

On Monday, March 30th, University of the Cumberlands' (UC) Hagan Memorial Library held its third annual International Edible Books Festival Contest. Golfing Patriots Honored with Academic Awards
One Patriot male along with five Patriot ladies were awarded Mid-South Conference Academic All-Conference awards on Friday. Twenty-four men along with twenty-three women earned the academic honor this year in the conference. In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

Patriot Basketball Finishes with 3 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes
The Patriot ladies had two players reach and excel past their expectations in the classroom this season, with seniors Brooke Forsythe (Brunswick, OH) and Danijela Svircic (Sibenik, Croatia) earning the prestigious honor. On the men's side, senior Chance Armstrong (Mt. Washington, KY) was the lone athlete to earn the distinction, demonstrating his success on the floor as well as in the classroom this year.

Two Basketball Patriots Named NAIA All-American Honorable Mention
Patriot seniors Xavier Owens (Tampa, FL) and Brooke Forsythe (Brunswick, OH) were named NAIA Honorable Mention All-Americans on Wednesday, which was announced by the NAIA. All of the selections are made by the All-American Committee and comprise a First, Second, and Third team as well as an Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-American teams.
